The actress is half-Italian. Cook was featured for the very first time in a public service announcement for foster care at seven years old. She started her career as a child model around the age of 10, appearing in national ads for Target and Milk-Bone dog biscuits. She attended Clara Barton Open School in Clara Barton, Laurel Springs School and Minneapolis South High School.
